Meziere Electrical short fix...
I'd been suffering a mysterious short and needed to fix it
The electric wires going into the pump housing would frequently need to be 'wiggled'
to make the motor work again. This was causing REAL problems
on the side of the road at times. If I didn't pull over and
attend to it though, the car would overheat very quickly.

The above picture is of the Meziere's electric motor's four brushes. These make contact with the armature of the motor and make the motor spin. Notice the brush on the right side is discolored and, while the other 3 brushes are extending from their holders, that discolored one is still inside of it's housing. This is because the wire coming into the housing was making a poor connection and thus was arcing (spark was leaping an air gap). This causes quite a bit of heat to be generated at that point and it overheated the housing and the spring inside that normally pushes the electric motors brush into firm contact with the armature. This extreme heat caused the spring to lose it's tension and it no longer would push the brush out. This was causing my short. I pulled the affected brush and it's now limp spring. I grabbed each end of the spring in my hands and pulled it to regain it's length and then reinstalled the brush and reassembled the pump. So far, It works and I'm happy.

This picture shows the armature of the Meziere electric water pump.
